Happy Sunday Magical Creatures!
I’ve fallen in love with Charleston, hard.
I’ve been here only a few hours short of two weeks, and I already feel like I live here. I can’t imagine ever living anywhere else.
Going back to Muncie in the fall is going to be…an adventure.
One of the most amazing parts of living on Folly Road is that I live a whole seven minutes from downtown Charleston, and about ten minutes from the beach.
I’m a happy camper, if you can’t tell.
I’m wearing a boho dress from Target, $15. Also, a vintage one-piece hot pink bathing suit that was my mom’s in the 90’s. My hat was $10 from Urban Outfitters, same for the sunglasses. I got everything on sale. I’ve found out that you shouldn’t wear anything important to the beach, because it will be covered in sand, no matter how hard you try to keep it clean.
This is Folly Beach, my new house.
I see you up there, Lorenzo. That’s my car; his name is Lorenzo.
Now that I’m a proud owner of an Eagles Nest Outfitters Hammock (ENO), I bring that to the beach with me. I have to find a good place to hang it, and there is a perfect tree on the beach in a little nook.
I try to pack light, carrying everything I need with me in my Minnie LeSportSac mini backpack, along with my phases of the moon towel from Urban Outfitters. Apparently they discontinued the pattern of my backpack, but here is a similar one.
Those bags, a book, headphones, sunscreen, my wallet, my Yurbuds, and my water bottle all fit in my backpack, magically.
It only takes about 5 minutes to set up an ENO, the hardest part is figuring out where you should hang the straps to get the right amount of sag in the hammock. Everything else is so easy. Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can.
HERE IT IS! Set up all cute in this shady little tree.
Also, applause for Camelbak Water Bottles, I can just hook it right onto my ENO so it doesn’t get all sandy.
It’s so beautiful. I want you all to be here with me to experience the ethereal gorgeousness of nature. We’ll have a nature-appreciation beach party.
I hope y’all don’t mind that all of your presents from Charleston will be seashells and coral.
I can’t believe that this is my real life. I’m hiding in a hammock in a tree on a beach.
Also I’m adoring my internship. I’m working for an incredible company with the most beautiful, kind people. But I’ll get more into that next time.
Have a good week, mystical beings. I’ll check in soon.
