Happy Thursday, Magical Creatures!
As spring is in full bloom, I’ve been obsessing over the season’s trends.
Not only am I stocking up on ruffles, block heels and two-toned denim, but also new beauty and skincare products.
My springtime beauty motto: natural, lightweight, floral and fresh.
With spring comes terrible allergies for me, so I’m trying to stick with simple beauty products that keep me feeling clean, cute and comfortable all day.
I’ve been focusing on re-vamping my skincare routine, and I think I’ve finally come up with one that helps keep my skin under control (curse you, adult acne).
Below are a few affordable, spring-y products that might add a little magic to your beauty routine.
1. Soap & Glory Face Soap & Clarity
This is seriously the most amazing face soap I’ve ever used. I have combination skin, so I need a soap that purifies without drying, and this is it. It has a thick consistency that makes my skin feel clean and bouncy. It has a moderate amount of micro-beads to gently exfoliate the skin.
Unfortunately, the downside is that micro-beads aren’t biodegradable, which is crazy harmful to our water supply.
It’s only $12 and is available at Ulta and Target among other retailers. The bottle is GINORMOUS, so this product comes at a decent value.
2. Thayers Witch Hazel Toner
I honestly never loved using toner before, but adding to my routine has totally revolutionized my skin. Basically how it works is that you dab it on your face after cleansing and it minimizes your pores to keep dirt and other impurities out. This means that acne never has a chance to form in the first place.
Seriously, I’ve noticed a huge difference since I started using this toner about a month ago. I like this one better than other toners because it is a classic, tried and true formula that leaves my skin feeling fresh. Also, it has the most delicious spring-y rose scent that makes me feel like I’m one big turkish delight.
I order this 12oz bottle off of Amazon for $11.
3. Deep Steep Lavender & Chamomile Bubble Bath
If you know me, you know how passionate I feel about baths. This is the perfect light, springtime scent. It’s an all-natural product and makes me feel so calm when I get stressed out (hint: that is often).
This is another Amazon purchase, at $12 for this 17oz bottle. Economically, I like to get a bottle of bubble bath rather than use a $4 bath bomb every time I want to take a bath. It just makes sense.
4. Nip + Fab Viper Venom Micro Blur Fix
GUYS. This is technically a primer, which blurs imperfections and minimizes the look of pores, fine lines and blackheads. I, however, use it as a minimal coverage skin perfecter. I don’t like wearing heavy makeup, and I usually go with a natural and lightweight look. This is PERFECT. It is so smooth, and doesn’t feel thick on my skin.
If I want more coverage, I dot concealer on my problem areas and use this with a sponge to blend the concealer in.
Nip + Fab is a British beauty company, so I ordered this online from their website for about $20. It is beautiful. Seriously, I love this product.
5. Benefit Posie, Cha Cha & Bene Tints
I’ve used these products before, but I recently bought a mini tester set of all three shades of Benefits lip & cheek tints. I haven’t used them in a while and I totally forgot how in love I am with them. The Posie Tint is a light pink, the Cha Cha Tint is coral and the Bene Tint is a darker mauve.
These are the perfect lip stains. They last all day, and they are completely dry and natural to the touch. Even after eating or drinking they still look like I just applied them. When applied to cheeks, they look rosy and sweet.
All of these products are serving me that fresh, clean, natural and floral look I try to embody in the springtime. They are putting me in the most positive, blissful spring mood.
What beauty products are you guys into right now? Leave me a comment!
I’m off to buy a plant for my front porch. I’m sure a picture or four will be popping up on Insta shortly.
Have a wonderful weekend, magical creatures.
Glitter and Rainbows,
P.S. I went to buy a unicorn frappuccino and they were SOLD OUT. I almost said, “Okay…but do you, like, know who I am? Please give me one? I really need it to take a picture with?”
